MisterMJ NFL Preseason Free Pick Sept 1 8:00 PM ET

We hit our NFL Free Pick last week with Kansas City  and we have a decent shot again this week with the Green Bay Packers as +3.5 point dogs at Kansas City.

Trying to handicap NFL Preseason games is challenging, but suppose there are some details that might sway things our way?

Realize that the  Packers have won four of their last five preseason finales, according to Packers.com. 

I think it's fair to say that McCarthy plays to win while evaluating Packer teams that have been very deep in talent, and this particular team is the deepest, maybe ever, which means there may be an advantage against Kansas City later in the game playing scrubs vs. scrubs.

From back up QB's to the back end of the Wide Receivers, Offensive line and Defensive backs, Green Bay is loaded. Even their scrubs should play a competitive game and many of the cuts will make other teams 53 man rosters.

Over the last two years, Green Bay has outscored its opponents, 72-24, in Week 4 of the preseason, according to Packers.com.

Andy Reid is 6-11 in game # 4 of the Preseason during his coaching lifetime. He seems to let his foot off the gas a little bit in game # 4.

I suggest caution and wouldn't wager very much on a Preseason game, save it for the regular season because that is when we rack up the units with proven handicapping systems.

Week 9 already? The computer has been solid...no reason to start doubting now.

Personally...I love the Viking pick...nice spot and great value...by far the best on the board, according to computer numbers anyway.

Seattle? Doesn't feel right does it? Too bad...you must wager the uncomfortable picks to win...the computer sees very good value here. Really! Don't worry...it sees things we can't see. Doesn't mean it will win...but...we just have to trust the system.

Pittsburgh....another rare Monday Night pick. Worked last week with Tennesse...lets hit one again. The computer sees value...lets go with it.

Week 7...there are a lot of games the computer likes this week...but these are the best 3... with lines we can beat.

Buffalo isn't a big surprise anymore...a lot of value there at home coming off a bye. I get the idea that San Diego is kind of phony when I watch them play...thats just my opinion...my opinion is not reflected in the Buffalo pick...I let the computer pick the games.

Carolina is solid and in a nice spot here at home. Could easily be a push though...buy the 1/2 pt if you want. I'll just take the -3 here for record keeping.

Indy / Green Bay this game looks like a coiled spring. A lot of energy wound up here. The computer can see this from its indicators...but...it doesn't really know exactly what it all means. This is a boom or bust game ...something unusual will probably happen...or one team will really dominate...something is up...and the computer thinks it points to an under.

I can't help but wonder if Indy regresses to looking terrible this week...like in the early weeks? The only way I can see GB dominating...is with a running game that just rips Indy all day long? Not sure...just guessing here...but I'm comfortable with the under pick. It feels scary...thats what beating the spread should feel like. The books always try to make us comfortable...which is usually a loser.
